Slag Blocker: Main Functions and Applications
The slag blocker is mainly used in the converter steelmaking process to reduce the amount of slag flowing into the ladle, thereby improving the quality of molten steel and reducing alloy consumption in subsequent processes. Its core functions are reflected in the following three aspects:
Improving Molten Steel Quality
By controlling the amount of slag flowing into the ladle during tapping, it effectively reduces the content of harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus in molten steel, avoids problems like "phosphorus reversion", and ensures that the billet quality meets the requirements for clean steel production.
Reducing Alloy Consumption
It reduces the amount of additional alloys that need to be added. For example, the amount of round steel aluminum added can be significantly reduced, comprehensively lowering costs and improving economic efficiency.
Optimizing the Production Process
The slag ball injection technology is adopted to quickly block slag from flowing into the ladle in the later stage of tapping, with a success rate of over 99.5%. At the same time, it realizes the slag splashing furnace protection process to extend the converter campaign life.

  9. Control Method for Cantilever and Lifting of Slag Blocking Car: Electric-hydraulic drive

  10. Electrical Control Method: On-site control / PLC automatic control (optional). One-key control is achievable: a series of slag cone dosing actions (rotation → pipe lifting → traveling → pipe lowering → dosing → pipe lifting → vehicle retreating → rotation in place) can be completed automatically; wireless remote control (optional) is also available.

  11. Supply Air Pressure (Compressed Air): 0.4–0.6 Mpa

  12. Rotating Working Platform and Rotation Drive Device: The rotating platform serves as a working platform to carry the cantilever rod, rotation drive device, etc., and allows personnel to operate the entire vehicle. It can rotate 90°, with a rotation speed of 3.6 r/min.
