The main function of the AOD furnace slag raking machine is to remove electric furnace slag, so as to ensure the quality and efficiency of the subsequent refining process.
Specifically, during the electric furnace smelting process, the molten steel produced by the electric furnace needs to be subjected to slag raking before being charged into the Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) furnace for refining. This is because electric furnace slag has high oxidizing properties. If it is not removed, it will negatively affect the reduction process in the AOD furnace and further impair the quality of the final molten steel.
The slag raking machine carries out slag removal via its front-end slag raking head, which guarantees quality control during the hot metal pretreatment process. It is a widely adopted treatment method in major steel plants.
