II. Typical Application Scenarios

  1. Routine Maintenance

    • Regular maintenance after dozens to hundreds of tapping heats.

    • Replacement of taphole sleeves when they suffer high-temperature erosion, washout wear or cracking.

    • Maintains stable taphole dimensions, steady steel flow, free of slag adhesion and turbulence.

  2. Corrective Repair

    • Repairs deformed, enlarged, deflected tapholes with serious steel adhesion.

    • Resolves poor steel flow, scattered flow, excessive slag carryover and quality issues.

    • Emergency repair when tapholes face risks of steel penetration, leakage or burn-through.

  3. Start-up / Relining

    • Positioning, reaming and calibration of newly installed tapholes on newly lined converters.
