Difference between converter isostatic tap hole sleeve and converter tap hole maintenance machine
1.Converter isostatic tap hole sleeve:
This is the refractory inner sleeve for converter tap holes, the exclusive passage for molten steel flowing from the converter to the ladle.
Material: Alumina-carbon / Magnesia-carbon refractory.
Forming process: Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP). It features dense structure, excellent scour resistance and long service life.
It comes into direct contact with high-temperature molten steel, delivering superior erosion resistance, thermal shock resistance and stable steel flow control.
It protects the permanent refractory bricks of the converter to prevent steel leakage and unsteady flow.
Service life: 150 ~ 300 heats. Replacement is mandatory upon expiry.
2.Converter tap hole maintenance machine:
Specialized metallurgical equipment
Electric/hydraulic driven, equipped with telescopic boom, drill rod and sleeve mounting mechanism.
Remove worn sleeves: Use high-torque drill bit to break and extract eroded old tap hole sleeves.
Install new sleeves: Precisely push and fix new isostatic pressed sleeves.
All-in-one operation: Drilling → deslagging → sleeve installation → grouting & sealing. The whole process takes only 10–20 minutes.
Tracked/wheeled chassis, telescopic boom, drill rod, hydraulic power unit, operator cabin and remote control system.
It can be used as a standalone unit, or fitted as an attachment for the telescopic boom of furnace demolition machines.
