Adopting rotor quantitative feeding plus a 360° rotary spray gun, the machine sprays magnesia refractory gunning mix at high velocity onto worn lining areas of EBT electric arc furnaces to conduct hot online furnace maintenance without full furnace cooling for overhaul.
Volumetric quantitative conveying through a rotating bin delivers stable discharge free of blockage and segregation. It ensures uniform coating thickness and strong adhesion while cutting rebound loss. The gunning flow rate ranges from 2 to 10 t/h, matching the continuous gunning rhythm of steel plants.
The spray gun arm features unlimited 360° rotation, lifting and telescopic movement. It fully covers all vulnerable zones including furnace walls, slag lines, EBT tapping boxes, tapping holes and hot spots of the molten pool, enabling precise repair of blind spots inaccessible to manual operation.
Gunning can be performed directly under high temperatures of 800–1400 °C during production intervals, following the process principles of high temperature, fast repair and thin coating. There is no need to wait for furnace cooling, drastically shortening downtime.
The slag lines, EBT tapping holes and furnace banks suffer continuous erosion and scouring by molten steel and slag, which thins the lining and risks furnace breakout and steel leakage. Spraying magnesia refractory layers thickens the furnace lining, extending furnace campaign life by 30%–100% and reducing consumption of refractory bricks.
Remote mechanical control keeps operators away from high-temperature radiation and splashing molten steel hazards. It eliminates manual entry into the furnace with long hoses and lowers risks of scalding and lining collapse.
