I. Core Process Functions (Mandatory Production Requirement)

Crush and remove solid slag buildup and skulls on the furnace door

Splashed molten steel and slag solidify on the furnace door water-cooled panels and door frame, forming hard slag blocks up to 600 mm thick that block the furnace door passage. Equipped with a telescopic boom plus hydraulic breaker or pry shovel mechanism, the machine crushes, strips and scrapes off solid slag deposits to clear the furnace door access.

Ensure smooth full-process operation of the furnace door

After cleaning, the furnace door can open and close normally to support all working procedures including oxygen blowing, temperature measurement, sampling, charging, slag tapping and steel tapping, preventing production shutdown caused by slag jamming the door mechanism.

Clear residual slag at dead corners of the door frame and water-cooled panels

The telescopic boom can precisely extend into the furnace door to remove thin slag adhered to copper water-cooled panels and refractory lining of the door frame without blind spots, avoiding continuous thickening of local slag buildup.

II. Improve Production Efficiency and Reduce Smelting Energy Consumption

Greatly shorten downtime for slag cleaning

Manual slag cleaning takes 15–20 minutes per cycle, while mechanical cleaning only requires 3–5 minutes. The smelting cycle per furnace is shortened, and the operation rate of the electric furnace is increased by over 10%.

Cut heat loss and lower power consumption

Manual cleaning requires the furnace door to stay open for a long time, raising power consumption by 8%–12%. Fast mechanical cleaning minimizes furnace door opening duration, drastically reducing high-temperature heat loss and cutting power cost per ton of steel.

Reduce unplanned furnace shutdowns for maintenance

Long-term extrusion and abrasion from slag buildup will damage furnace door water-cooled panels, hinges and seals, leading to water leakage and door jamming. Regular mechanical slag cleaning extends the service life of water-cooled components and refractory lining, lowering the frequency of major overhauls.
