The SM08B Tracked Self-Propelled Hot Patching Machine is capable of performing rapid maintenance and repair work on the molten damage areas of converter linings at a high temperature of 1200°C. It can execute actions such as the entire vehicle's travel, steering, braking, upper carriage rotation, positioning of the injection pipe, and feeding of patching materials. It is a highly efficient piece of equipment for local repair of converter linings.

2.3 Brief Introduction to Overall Vehicle Performance, Actions and Structure

(a) This machine allows the platform to rotate to any position within ±110° for maintenance and operation.

2.4 The Entire Vehicle

The entire vehicle consists of several important parts, including a power unit, hydraulic system, electrical control system, injection pipe drive system, patching material conveying device, and tracked travel system.

2.5 Structural Brief Introduction

(1) Travel Drive Device

This machine adopts a tracked travel device, which is required to bear a large machine weight and ensure stable travel. The travel device has two tracks, each driven independently by two sets of drive devices, enabling the entire machine to move forward, backward, turn, and also rotate in place. The operation is simple and flexible.
The drive device uses an integrated travel motor, which has a compact structure, convenient maintenance, small space occupation, large ground clearance of the chassis, and a long service life.

(2) Track Tensioning Device

The track tensioning device is composed of an idler wheel, tension spring, and tension cylinder. This device is mainly used to maintain a certain tension of the track so as to play a buffering role during work and travel. When adjusting the tension, it is only necessary to inject (or discharge) grease with a grease gun.

(3) Top Rollers and Track Rollers

These rollers adopt a single-side structure, which not only meets the requirement of preventing the track link from coming off but also minimizes the energy loss during the energy transmission process of the track link.

(4) Track Assembly

The track uses three-rib track shoes formed by rolling. These track shoes have the advantages of high strength, good wear resistance, and low damage to the ground.

(5) Main Oil Circuit System

The patching machine uses a four-stroke diesel engine as the power source of the entire vehicle to drive the main pump to work and provide power for the entire hydraulic system. The power of the diesel engine of the patching machine is 36.8kw, and the maximum working speed is 2000rpm; the main pump adopts a triple gear pump with a working pressure of 16MPa; the travel drive is driven by a hydraulic motor; the steering is realized by two hydraulic motors; the travel braking is achieved by the travel reducer; the left and right rotation of the upper carriage is realized by the hydraulic motor driving the slewing bearing.

(6) Operation System

All actions of the entire vehicle are directly operated through the hydraulic valve handles. The operation console is equipped with a digital LCD display monitor, which displays, monitors, and provides early warnings for the engine's working parameters, and provides a basis for maintenance personnel to carry out maintenance and diagnosis.

(7) Cooling System

To prevent the oil temperature in the hydraulic system from being too high in a high-temperature working environment, maintain the good performance of the hydraulic oil, improve work efficiency, an air-cooled hydraulic oil heat dissipation system is added. This ensures that the hydraulic system works within an appropriate temperature range, effectively reducing the energy consumption of the engine and improving the service life and stability of the hydraulic oil and hydraulic components.

(8) Power System

The power source of this machine uses a Xichai engine, which has the advantages of low fuel consumption, low noise, low pollution, and easy cold start. The diesel engine feet are flexibly connected to the platform through shock absorbers to reduce the vibration of the machine; the oil pump and the engine are connected by an elastic coupling, thereby extending the service life of the hydraulic pump.

(9) Slewing Mechanism

The slewing platform and the travel chassis are connected by a slewing bearing, and can realize ±110° rotation driven by the slewing device on the slewing platform. The slewing device is equipped with a built-in brake, which is easy to install and has reliable braking performance.

(10) Working Device

The injection pipe is divided into large and small pipes, with a total telescopic stroke of about 12m, which is realized by the large pipe feeder and small pipe feeder respectively. The large and small pipe feeders are each driven by their own hydraulic motors; in addition, through the slewing guide frame of the injection pipe, the hydraulic motor drives the gear ring on the guide frame to realize ±170° rotation of the injection pipe; the action of the injection pipe lifting cylinder can make the injection pipe tilt 15° upward and 20° downward; the rotation of the upper carriage can make the injection pipe swing left and right by ±110°. Thus, through travel movement, left and right rotation of the upper carriage, and the injection pipe's own forward/backward telescoping, rotation, and up/down tilting, the working range of the nozzle can meet the requirements of patching maintenance in front of the converter.
The feeding of patching materials, and the water and gas flow are mainly composed of a material tank (including a water tank), pipes, joints, material valve switches, check valves, pressure gauges, and other gas and liquid components as an organic whole, which mixes the patching materials and water and delivers them to the nozzle.
Such a system configuration enables the entire hot patching machine to realize travel, steering, braking, upper carriage rotation, driving of the injection pipe, and feeding of patching materials, meeting the requirements of rapid patching maintenance work in the converter at a high temperature of 1200°C.
