Main Functions:
Trim and calibrate tap‑hole diameter. Long‑term erosion by molten steel and slag adhesion cause deformation, diameter reduction and uneven inner surface of the tap‑hole. The spiral carbide cutting edges cut off agglomerated refractory materials and steel skulls, restoring the tap‑hole to a standard round shape for smooth molten‑steel flow.
Unclog blocked passages. When the tap‑hole is blocked due to refractory wear, solidified steel and slag buildup, the carbide teeth perform impact cutting to open the blocked channel, replacing manual cleaning with pneumatic pick hammers.
Ream holes to fit new tap‑hole sleeve bricks. Before installing new tap‑hole sleeve bricks, ream the hole to a uniform standard inner diameter for tight fitting of refractory bricks, minimizing gaps and lowering the risk of steel leakage.
Discharge slag and debris. The triple‑spiral flutes act as material‑removal channels. Crushed refractory fragments and steel slag are discharged along the spiral grooves to prevent bit jamming and enable continuous operation.
High‑temperature resistance and wear resistance. The carbide cutting teeth withstand harsh high‑temperature conditions at the furnace opening and reduce bit replacement frequency.
